Easy Bathroom Decorating Ideas
1. Add a feature wall, and be bold with your paint choices – bathrooms needn’t only be white! If you have high ceilings, try colour drenching from above to create an encompassing and warm space.
2. Use different surface textures to soften the space. Paneling is a popular interiors trend that’s great for adding a homely vibe, and is an easy DIY too. What’s more, you can completely change its look with a fresh lick of paint.
3. Small vanity splashbacks are such an easy way to add personality to an often overlooked space. Simple to measure up for, and so much quicker to install than tiles. Not to mention easy to clean, thanks to no grout lines. Choose something bold and beautiful to maximise the space, or tone with other features in your bathroom by commissioning a bespoke splashback design.

4. Enhance natural light and make your space seem bigger by cleverly placing a mirror. One with decorative features will add interest; try a colourfully framed or patterned mirror for both function and beauty. Emma’s delicately etched mirrors are a really elegant look and an ideal size for bathrooms, with bespoke options also available upon enquiry. Get in touch here.
5. Breathe some life into your bathroom space with houseplants. Hang from the ceiling with decorative planters and adorn your windowsills with humidity loving plants like ferns and peace lilies. Love the green-fingered look but don’t like the work involved? Emma’s Plant Life splashback is for you.
6. Don’t forget hardware! Changing taps or shower heads is a quick and cost effective way to add another level of detail to your space. Matte black or coloured hardware looks contemporary and sleek, whilst traditional chrome taps are more suited to heritage homes.
Bold Bathroom Inspiration
7. For a real pop of pattern, a full height splashback is the ticket. Emma wouldn’t recommend adding wallpaper to a bathroom, as high humidity can cause your paper to peel or stain. Achieve a similar look with a design encapsulated in glass, designed bespoke to you or chosen from Emma’s decorative splashback collections. A much more durable and hygienic option, decorative glass panels are water and humidity resistant so will retain their vibrant quality for years to come. For this bathroom project Emma even created glass panels as art pieces for the interior.
8. Lastly, if you’re taking on a full bathroom renovation, why not be bold with the suite you choose. Emma loves a statement bath tub or basin as a real complement to her original glass splashbacks. William Holland’s handmade copper baths are really showstopping, whilst their metallic basins add a touch of quiet luxury.
