Timeless in look to keep and enjoy over time, keep scrolling for some alternatives to plastic ideas and pick your favourite/s that are just a click away! Even if everyone made just one change with some plastic free July ideas, every little helps reduce plastic waste.
No Plastic Bottles
Fill glass carafes with water and lemon slices, keep in the fridge – no need to buy plastic bottles of water. Carafes look really lovely on a table set for a feast and bring a little luxe to informal lunches at home with family.
Pretty Tumblers for Bamboo Toothbrushes
Try a bamboo toothbrush instead of plastic, and store in a pretty tumbler in your bathroom! Silver Birch pattern is a customer favourite for its simplicity or go for the pretty meadow design.
Swap Disposables
Plastic free July ideas have to include moving away from disposable tea and coffee cups. Some still have a plastic coating. Take a proper cup to work or make your own at home. In one of these Emma Britton & Duchess China 1888 Floral Twist fine bone china cups of course! This is an Emma Britton re-imagined pattern from the Duchess China 1888 archive. Realised with their design team, matching crystalware available. This collection was designed with longevity at its heart, the pieces are intended for handing on to be enjoyed for generations.
Re-Usable Picnicware
Tumbers in the Silver Birch and Meadow patterns are pretty and practical and robust enough for picnics with a little careful packing. So ditch the plastic and pop these in your basket instead, and your drinks will taste better too!
Sustainable Birch Ply and Cork Trays
If you’re in the market for a tray – and who can be without one – choose one in sustainable materials. Try my vintage style Kohl Rabi design Gardener’s Tray. It looks as good out on display as when its in use. Or my little Gardener’s Trays with, eco-cork detail. We heard a lovely story about the chard design recently. Turns out this small design is perfect for an older person that finds it tricky carrying anything heavy. They can now manage to take their tea out into the garden as the cork provides a non-slip surface for drinks without being weighty. Pretty and practical design at its best!
